What every man needs in his wardrobe!

The 5 Basic’s

1) Classic white tailored button down shirt.  Try to buy a traditional button cuff shirt, and avoid prints, or pockets.  A classic white button down can be worn with a suit, jeans or khakis.  This is a must have staple in every man’s wardrobe!

2) Great fitting boot cut jeans.  This cut is flattering on any body type and can be worn with a blazer, sweater,  button down or T-shirt.  When buying jeans, a medium denim wash is best.   Avoid jeans with details, embellishments and designs as these will go out of style faster than a basic classic denim.

3)Basic Black Suit and versatile tie.  Every man needs a great fitting suit, so invest wisely in a suit that is a year round weight and that is not to trendy.  A classic black suit will never go out of style and you can break it up to get multiple looks out of it (ie;) black blazer with jeans, or black pants with a sweater!Go for a  tie with a subtle print such as blue stripes!

4)Flat front pants.  No pleats please, they do not flatter anyBODY.  Choose a khaki or nuetral color flat front pant that can transition well into any season!

5)Classic Loafers in black leather or chocolate brown and a black or brown leather belt.  A comfortable shoe with a classic toe will give you longevity and can be worn with a suit or with jeans. A  leather belt with a simple buckle can be worn with both suits, jeans and khakis

How To Get The PERFECT Fitting Jeans?

1) Look for jeans with a flared leg and relaxed cut if you are hippy or have a wider butt. The wider leg bottoms balances with the width of your body and the relaxed cut will give you room for those extra curves.

2) Choosing jeans with stretch gives you a better fit on any body type because the jeans mold to your body shape.

3) Avoid taper-legged jeans unless you are very skinny. These don’t look good on anyone who is bigger than model size.

4) Look for jeans with tapered waist bands if you have a small waist and bigger hips. Many popular brands have this choice now.

catv5) Look for sizes that have a “T” beside it if you are tall. The “T” stands for tall.  Look for a “P” if you are short. The “P” stands for petite.

Blair’s Top 10 Swimsuit Guide

1) Don’t go swimsuit shopping after a big meal. The worst time to shop is when your belly is full and you’ve just eaten a meal, you will feel bloated and will likely not feel good in anything you put on.

2) When in doubt, accessorize. Accessorizing can be your best friend when wearing a swimsuit. For example, a great big hat will direct the eye away from those problematic hips and draw the attention to your face, so smile!

3) Wear that bikini with pride. Be proud in your swimwear, after all you work hard, eat right and workout (i hope) so enjoy your chance to show off your well deserved body.

4) Be fussy about the fit. This is one of those times when fit is so important. I always stress to my clients how important fit is, and boy is it ever when your trying to find the right swimsuit.

5)Get a great (fake!) tan. I am not a big advocate for “fake things”, however, the fake tan is a definite exception to the rule! Not only will you save your skin from sun damage by sitting in the sun for hours, or uneven tan lines, but a great fake tanning cream or spray will moisturize your skin and leave you with a healthy looking glow. Not to mention, it will help reduce the appearance of cellulite and make you look thinner!

6) Pay attention to your personal style. Not every bikini is for every BODY. Select one that reflects your style, and your body!

7) Remember these facts and figures. Not everyone is a model, or a perfect size 2, so embrace your curves and remember, confidence is your greatest accessory!

8)
Mix and match. Bigger on the bottom than on top? Try mixing and matching your bikini. It is much easier today to find stores that will let you mix and match, so get creative and design your perfect swimsuit!

9) Create a diversion. Camouflage your tummy by wearing a higher cut one piece bathing suit, or wrap a sexy sarong around your waist to minimize wide hips!

10) Give yourself a little credit. Cut yourself a little slack, ok you are not perfect, but so what, no one is. Embrace who you are and love all the parts of you, even the ones that you hate:)

Blair’s How To Style On A Budget Tips!

Know your Budget:
Decide on how much you want to spend on your seasonal wardrobe without breaking the bank!  Since clothing is a necessity, it is really important that you take a minute to think about how much you will set aside for your new purchases.

Buy Quality not Quantity:
Instead of buying cheap, inexpensive clothes that wont last for more than one season, save your money and invest in a couple of really nice pieces made of quality material.

Avoid High End Luxury Stores:
Window-shopping has become the latest trend.  You can window shop to check out the latest trends, designs and styles and then go shop at a less expensive store and create a similar look for a fraction of the price!  This is a great and easy way to save!

Wait For Sales:
Most department stores will usually slash prices on weekly bases, so check back frequently or ask a sales associate to call you if an item your eyeing goes on sale.  When shopping at Department stores, it is always great to check the sale racks, as most items will be at least 50% off.  If you find a great buy on sale you’ll have enough money left over to buy a fabulous pair of shoes and accessories to add to your look!

Mix & Match:
I love mixing and matching different designers and styles as this always creates an interesting more youthful look.  Mixing and matching also allows you to buy pieces that are more flexible in your wardrobe and to be more playful with putting your looks together.

Buy A Classic Black Dress:
You can never go wrong with a great fitting classic black dress.  You will get so much use out of your little black dress and the endless options you’ll have to choose from with accessories will prove to be the greatest piece of clothing in your closet!

Go Vintage, Borrow Clothes or Rent Them:
Vintage shopping has always been a great way to find unique treasures and great buys, and now more than ever it has become a favorite amongst even the savviest of shoppers.  Not only is vintage shopping fun, but also you’ll love adding something from another decade into your wardrobe.  Think classic 60’s Chanel with your favorite jeans?
